Project name: The University of the West of England Raspberry Pi cluster

Lead academics: Dr Xiaodong Xu, Dr Andre Jesus, Dr Matt O’Donnell and Professor Yufeng Yao

The objective of this project is to develop a Raspberty Pi Cluster for High Performance Computing at the University of the West of England. Key features of the cluster include its ease of use, scalability using affordable components, and low maintenance requirements. Subsequently, the Engineering Modelling and Simulation Group will use the cluster capabilities to solve complex research problems, such as optimisation of advanced composite materials, intensive simulations of computational fluid dynamics and optimisation of sensor configurations for structural health monitoring.
